The Greek Olympics
The Olympic games started in 776 B.C and they were held every four years. The events that were played were footraces, footraces with armor, four horse chariot races, single horse chariot races, pentathon, wrestling, and boxing. Women were not allowed to participate inthe games except for foot racing.
The winner of the games would get a crown and wild olive leaves. The Olympic games ended in 393 A.D, because the decree of Roman Emperor Theodosius stated that they were un-christian. They began again in 1896.
